Six AI repos ranked by stars

InvestIn.News's 8 November 2026 tracker snapshot lists six popular AI developer repositories by total stars and reports their star gains over five observed days.

Why it matters: This snapshot gives developers a caveated map of which AI coding and data tools are drawing attention in early November, without treating stars as quality.

In short

  • An 8 November 2026 snapshot of the InvestIn.News AI developer tracker lists six repos by total stars, not by November growth or completed rankings.
  • The six: ECC (299,147), DeepSeek Harness (275,725), Hermes Agent (261,489), Firecrawl (199,514), Ponytail (186,362), Ollama (186,278).
  • Five-day observed gains range from DeepSeek Harness (+4,693) to Ollama (+465), with Ponytail (+2,677) just ahead of ECC (+2,643).
  • Stars measure attention, not quality or safety; the tracker runs no installs, benchmarks or security audits, and the month is incomplete.

Which six repositories made the snapshot?

InvestIn.News reviewed the AI developer tracker at its 8 November 2026 snapshot at 04:15 IST (22:45 UTC on 7 November), which lists six popular repositories by total stars: ECC at 299,147, DeepSeek Harness at 275,725, Hermes Agent at 261,489, Firecrawl at 199,514, Ponytail at 186,362, and Ollama at 186,278. The tracker follows a selected 60-project universe of AI and LLM repositories, refreshes every six hours, excludes forks and archived repositories, and ranks growth separately from total stars. It calculates each displayed gain by subtracting the oldest count available within seven days from the current count, but labels the cards as stars gained in five days. These six are the largest total-star counts among the 60 tracked projects, not the tracker's growth leaders; its first two growth leaders include ccch1mneyyy/dsh-Go at +6,935 and Ebony-Vinyl/dsh-our-free-model at +6,431.

What each repository is built to do

The six tools serve different purposes. ECC, with 299,147 stars, is a reusable toolkit for engineering workflows around coding agents, covering planning, testing and review, plus memory, rules and skills; its README reports the strongest support for Claude Code, native Codex integration, and beta adapters for Cursor and OpenCode. DeepSeek Harness, at 275,725 stars, is a plugin-based runtime built on Cordis for putting together DeepSeek agent configurations; it is a developer preview and may introduce compatibility-breaking changes, while Hermes Agent, at 261,489 stars, is an agent application offering persistent memory, search across conversations, reusable skills, terminal and messaging interfaces, and configurable model providers. Firecrawl, at 199,514 stars, provides web-data software and an API that can return Markdown or structured JSON after searching, scraping and crawling sites; its hosted and open-source editions differ, and Ponytail, at 186,362 stars, is a prompt or skill that guides coding agents towards reusing components and limiting code to what is needed, with its README warning against removing validation, error handling, security or accessibility. Ollama, at 186,278 stars, runs and manages open models and offers an API and coding-agent integrations; its README supports local or cloud operation, not only local use.

Are five-day gains a quality signal?

Over the five-day window, the tracker recorded these gains within the group: DeepSeek Harness +4,693, Ponytail +2,677, ECC +2,643, Hermes Agent +1,251, Firecrawl +1,207 and Ollama +465; Ponytail added 34 more stars than ECC during that period. These figures indicate attention rather than installations, active users, quality or safety. The tracker says its plain-English summaries are produced from metadata, and that star totals reflect attention, not quality or safety. For this article, no software was installed, no benchmarks or security audits were run, and no code was executed; because the month is incomplete, the group is neither a set of November winners nor a finished monthly ranking.

What developers are saying on X

Thomas Bekkers (@ThomasBekkers) said on X that he was curious how DeepSeek Harness compares with Hermes Agent or plain T3 Code. Husni Marwan (@HusniMarwann) said on X that a DeepSeek Harness button was not working and speculated about smaller models, while David Björkö (@DavidBjorko) said on X that he used DeepSeek Harness, Hermes Agent, Cursor and Claude Code together. Toyam Cox (@Vaelatern) said on X that the Ponytail skill worked well for keeping the resulting code simple, and Akira (@AkiraHachiko) said on X that Ollama with OpenCode worked on an M1 MacBook Pro with 16 GB. Vladimir Orany (@telegraphic_dev) said on X that he would buy credits for services such as Firecrawl through a subscription. These are individual public posts, not verified performance reviews, and the identities behind them have not been independently authenticated.

out of curiosity what do u like about the deepseek harness that hermes agent couldnt do or just use plain t3 code? gonna try it today, but just curious

With deepseek harness the button is not working at all. I don’t know maybe deepseek harness is really not that good working with a smaller parameter models.

I use Grok Bot, DeepSeek Harness, Hermes Agent, Cursor, and Claude Code. I created almost everything with DeepSeek Harness and collected the data. pic.twitter.com/RisVd9qQ6u

I use the Ponytail skill that works remarkably well for making sure what you get is simple.https://t.co/p0YtKoPynS

I tried on a MBP M1 with 16Gb and it works nicely (Ollama + OpenCode)

But I would actually buy credits for things like @firecrawl or @apify like Nous subscription offers. Basically anything that I need to keep my agents running except the model.

What the snapshot means for AI developers

For a developer choosing among these tools, star counts are a rough map of attention, not a safety or quality stamp. The tracker does not report installations, active users, benchmarks or security audits, and the six repositories are not directly comparable because they do different jobs. Anyone installing ECC should use only its verified channels, which the repository lists as github.com/affaan-m/ECC, the ecc-universal and ecc-agentshield npm packages, the GitHub App, the ecc@ecc plugin slug and the ecc.tools website.

Questions readers ask

Is DeepSeek Harness the fastest-growing AI developer repository in early November?

No. In the 8 November 2026 InvestIn.News tracker snapshot, DeepSeek Harness had the largest five-day gain among the six total-star leaders at +4,693, but the tracker's wider growth leaders were ccch1mneyyy/dsh-Go at +6,935 and Ebony-Vinyl/dsh-our-free-model at +6,431, both ahead of DeepSeek Harness.

What should developers check before installing ECC?

The ECC README says its strongest support is for Claude Code, with native Codex integration; Cursor and OpenCode adapters are beta, while other adapters have limited capabilities. No independent compatibility testing was done for this story.

Do the star counts mean these six tools are the safest or best?

No. The InvestIn.News tracker says stars measure attention, not quality or safety. The snapshot includes no installs, benchmarks, security audits or code execution, so the counts should not be read as a safety or quality stamp.

Is Ollama only for local or private model use?

No. Ollama's README supports local or cloud use, not only local. The project is a runtime and interface for running and managing open models with an API and coding-agent integrations, and the model, hardware and provider matter.

Our view

At InvestIn.News, we think this snapshot is useful as a map, not a leaderboard. The six AI developer repositories show separate parts of the stack: engineering workflow, agent orchestration, memory, web data, coding discipline and model runtimes. Comparing ECC with Ollama directly, for example, would be comparing different jobs.

The star counts and five-day gains are attention signals. The tracker itself says stars measure attention, not quality or safety, and no installs, benchmarks or security audits sit behind this piece. DeepSeek Harness's group-leading gain does not make it the tracker-wide growth winner; other projects in the 60-repo universe gained more.

What would sharpen our view is a later snapshot showing whether these attention spikes hold, plus independently reported installs or developer surveys. Neither is present yet.

How we reported this: We checked the InvestIn.News AI repo tracker snapshot and methodology, read each repository's documentation, and reviewed six public X posts, shown as cards. No code was run; we did not conduct benchmarks or safety audits.
