What is Airdrop?

Airdrop: a crypto term, explained in plain English.

In one line

Free tokens sent to many wallets, usually to reward early users of a project or to spread its token widely.

In simple words

Imagine a new shop handing out free sweets to everyone who visited in its first week.

An airdrop is the same idea: a crypto project gives free tokens to its early users.

The technical side

Projects airdrop tokens to wallets that meet set rules, such as having used the app before a cutoff date. Uniswap’s September 2020 airdrop gave 400 UNI to each past user and made the practice famous; many later projects did the same.

Scammers copy the idea: a fake “claim your airdrop” site asks you to connect your wallet and sign a transaction that drains it. Only claim through a project’s official links.

Airdrop kya hai?

Airdrop matlab project ki taraf se free tokens, aksar shuruaati users ko. Dhyan rahe, nakli airdrop site wallet khaali kar sakti hai.
