OpenAI said in a post on X that it will donate $5m to a new Simons Foundation initiative supporting mathematicians who study, understand and build on AI-generated results, including its recent releases. The foundation will manage and distribute the money for workshops, conferences and special programmes, and OpenAI will give supported researchers model and computing resources.
