- The protocol first capped payments at $750 per recipient per day before pausing X Money transfers entirely.
- Under the arrangement, 80% of each claim goes to the designated X recipient and 20% buys and burns the Solana-based PAID token.

UsePaid has paused X Money payouts after a surge in creator fees tied to Pump.fun token launches, U.Today reports. The crypto service converts token creator fees into dollar payments sent directly to X accounts. It announced the suspension late on Sunday, saying it was working through payment issues.
The project said existing balances remain safe and that fees will continue to accrue while payouts are halted. It added that it is preparing a web-based claims portal as an interim solution for users. X Money itself continues to operate independently of UsePaid.
The pause followed a sharp rise in creator fees moving through the protocol. Hours earlier, UsePaid reported that roughly $1.54m worth of fees had been claimed in a single 24-hour period. That was about 26 times the amount recorded the day before and exceeded the total claimed across the entire previous seven days.
Payouts halted on Sunday
The spike had already forced emergency restrictions. UsePaid temporarily limited payments to $750 per recipient per day before stopping X Money payments altogether. The project has not said when normal payouts will resume.
UsePaid acts as a bridge between crypto-native creator fees and conventional dollar payments. A Pump.fun token creator can direct 100% of a token's creator fees to the UsePaid treasury. UsePaid detects the token and periodically claims its accumulated creator fees on-chain.
Under the current agreement, 80% of each claim belongs to the designated X recipient, while the remaining 20% is used to buy the protocol's Solana-based PAID token and burn it. Anyone can launch a Pump.fun coin, redirect its creator fees to UsePaid and name almost any X account as beneficiary.
Fee claims spike sharply
That structure has produced a wave of coins launched around prominent X personalities. Pump.fun data captured during the surge showed about $37.2m in trading volume and more than 13,000 holders. UsePaid currently lists hundreds of tokens tied to individual X profiles, including 367 naming @beffjezos and 764 naming Elon Musk's account, according to its dashboard.
